Google Offers free 15GB could storage combining Gmail, Drive and Google+ Photo

Before, you have 10GB free storage for Gmail and 5GB for Google Drive and Google+ photo sharing. But now, you are not limited in this restriction, you’re totally in control over  how you want to use the storage space, 6 GB for Gmail, 5GB for Drive and 4 GB for Google+. As Google announced on May 13, 2013, that  you’ll have 15GB of free storage sharing between Drive, Gmail and Google+ Photos.

With this new combined storage space, you won’t have to worry about how much you’re storing and where. For example, maybe you’re a heavy Gmail user but light on photos, or perhaps you were bumping up against your Drive storage limit but were only using 2 GB in Gmail. Now it doesn’t matter, because you can use your storage the way you want.

Google also said that users can check the Google Drive storage Web page to see a visualization of how they are using their storage space. In pie chart form, the page will show users how their storage breaks down between the three services. Users can also turn to this page to purchase more storage if necessary.

According to the company, the change will be rolling out to users over next few weeks.

I do think this is really a good news, as I use Google Drive and Gmail mostly in daily work and life, but seldom share photos on Google+, so I can now spare the storage for Google+ to Gmail and Drive.

Which one do you use often? Gmail? Google Drive or Google+ Photos sharing? Please leave your comments to share your ideas.

How to Delete any Specific pages from a PDF file

To advocate a “green” life and work, people use more and more PDF files widely; according to Google index, there are almost 370 million PDF files on the internet. People would like to  create and share PDF files, inevitably, you may meet this case: you want to share a PDF file with others, but only a portion of it, not the whole PDF file, just several specific pages. At this time, what will you do?

In this article, I will tell you how to delete any specific pages from a PDF in two ways:

Way1: using Adobe Acrobat

If you have enough budget, you can purchase this expensive but professional PDF tool – Adobe Acrobat Pro version or Stand version, then follow below steps to delete PDF pages:

1. Download Adobe Acrobat > install it on your computer > run the program.

2. Go to Tools > Click Pages and you’ll find the Delete function in the list, click it.

3. Then a dialogue box pops up for you to choose any specific pages. Or you can select those pages at first and check the Selected option in this box window.

Way2: Using a PDF splitter

There are many PDF splitters on the web, you can search some one in Google, Yahoo, Bing or other search engine; or use this one I recommend to you – Simpo PDF Merge & Split.

1. Download the app > install and run it. You can download it from http://www.simpopdf.com/download/pdfmergesplit_setup.exe, then double click the setup .exe file to install it on your computer.

2. Import a PDF and choose a way to delete the pages from the PDF. Generally, the option of Remove page(s) is used to delete any specific pages from a PDF. This is for the case that you have few pages to remove from a PDF. If you meet some cases that want to extract few pages from a PDF and delete most other pages, you can check Extract page(s) to extract those useful few and delete useless most. And this PDF splitter lets you  split a PDF file into separated PDFs.

3. Click Split button to delete selected specific pages from a PDF.

In my opinion, the latter way is much easier and a PDF splitter is affordable for most of us, but Adobe Acrobat also lets you edit PDF in Word. Anyway, it depends on your need.

3. Adobe Acrobat Pro

This is really a powerful and professional PDF tool. It also allows you to convert PDF to Word with all original PDF contents preserved, but much more expensive than above PDF to Word converter.

It is much easier and more efficient to copy PDF to Word with the PDF converters, you don’t need to reformat the converted Word as it looks like exactly as original PDF.

Apple Announces WWDC 2013 Scheduled for June 10-14, Tickets on Sale Tomorrow

Apple has announced that its 2013 Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) will take place from June 10-14 at Moscone West convention center in San Francisco.  The five-day event will provide developers with a first look at the future of iOS and OS X.

Tickets, which will be priced at $1599, will go on sale tomorrow, April 25, at 10 a.m. PDT.

In past years, Apple has put tickets on sale simultaneously its announcement, but with tickets selling out in shorter and shorter amounts of time, it appears that Apple has decided to announce the on-sale time a day early in order to give developers equal chances at obtaining tickets. Tickets for WWDC 2012 sold out in less than two hours.

As was the case last year, Apple’s requirements for purchasing a ticket to WWDC include membership in one of the company’s paid developer programs. With the advance notice of ticket sales, Apple is also requiring that developers have been members of a paid program prior to today’s announcement, preventing last-minute signups.

Developers between the ages of 13 and 17 must also have their tickets purchased by a parent or guardian who is also a member. Tickets are limited to one per person and five per organization.

Like it has done in previous years, Apple is offering scholarships for students to attend WWDC. Students must be at least 13 years old and a member of the iOS developer program. To apply, each student must create an app that’ll showcase their coding skills, background and interests. Apple will be giving away up to 150 tickets to eligible students, and applications must be received by May 2, 2013 at 5:00 pm PDT.
