PDF to Word Review

January 22nd, 2010 admin No comments

This is the review which is written by the person who are using our software. Thanks very much for his support.

Frustration can overcome the innocent computer user who is intent on completing a form that has been e-mailed in PDF format.  Of course, the ‘geek’ already knows that it isn’t possible to edit PDF’s (at least not without a lot of fiddling around – and even then it isn’t universally possible) but this is scant comfort to the frustrated.  But now there really IS a solution and Simpo Tech, amongst their comprehensive collection of PDF solutions, offer just the answer.  Using their programs it is now possible to either convert a PDF file into a Word document (imaginatively entitled “PDF to Word”) or even simply into text with “Simpo PDF to text”.

Of course they couldn’t finish there and Simpo also offer programs to create PDF’s from any Windows application (Simpo PDF Creator) or even specific batches of Word documents into PDF files (Simpo Word to PDF). Not to be outdone, they can even offer an editing solution with “Simpo PDF Merge & Split” that provides the ability to merge several PDFs into one PDF document as well as splitting one PDF document into several PDF’s. This program offers the additional security of password protection, which is a great solution for sensitive documentation (or the paranoid author).

For people like me, almost stuck in the past where it was pretty much unthinkable to be doing anything other than reading PDF files, the plethora of PDF solutions from Simpo is like a breath of fresh air. With a battery of programs offering an inexpensive solution the option is now there to do almost anything you need to. Don’t delay, lookup www.simpopdf.com today!

The other way to convert PDF to Word – OCR

January 12th, 2010 admin No comments

There are many ways to convert PDF files into word format. You can install Microsoft Office Add-in tools; you can buy a good PDF to Word converter, even more, if there is only one page in your PDF file, you can just simply import it into word. However, here what I want to declare is not all the PDF documents can be converted by using the above methods.

What’s the exception?

There is more than one way to create a PDF document. One of these methods is by using a scanner, or similar machine, that takes an image of a document and then stores this image as an electronic PDF file. So to scan this PDF into word format, we will need another tool which is called OCR.

What is OCR?

According to Wikipedia, “Optical character recognition, usually abbreviated to OCR, is the mechanical or electronic translation of images of handwritten, typewritten or printed text (usually captured by a scanner) into machine-editable text. It is used to convert paper books and documents into electronic files.”

Convert PDF to word with SimpleOCR

First, what we need to do is convert your PDF document into images, here you can use Photoshop to achieve it. Secondly, you can use SimpleOCR to scan your images, after that all the words in the images will be extracted into the word document. It can be set up to read directly from a scanner or by adding a page (jpg, tiff, bmp formats). And the converted format can be .doc or .txt.

Tips: addition to SimpleOCR,you can also use Microsoft office document image, TopOCR, FreeOCR etc.

How to lock Microsoft Word Document?

January 6th, 2010 admin 1 comment

Sometimes people want to protect their word document and make it secured. Here are two ways to do that

1. Set the password for your word document.

Do you know that Microsoft Word document provides encryption function? Followings are the full details about it.

Step1: Open the word document which you need to encrypt. Go to menu -> Prepare -> Encrypt document.

Step2: it will launch a new window; here you should type the password twice for the password confirmation.

Step2: it will launch a new window; here you should type the password twice for the password confirmation.

Tips: In case, you want to cancel the password, it is in the same procedure, but the difference is you just need to leave the password box as blank, save the file then done!

2. Using Word to PDF converter

As everyone knows that the PDF document is not editable. Without permission, no copy, no print etc. So a good word to PDF converter can secure your word document perfectly. Here I am using Simpo Word to PDF as an example.

Step1: Download and launch Simpo Word to PDF.

Step2: Import your word document by clicking “Add Files”.

Step3: Click “Setting” to set the copyright.

Here, you can set the password and limit the user behavior, such as disable printing, disable changing etc.

Step4: Click “Start”, your word document is starting converting into PDF with high protection.
