Microsoft Add-in: If you are using Microsoft Office 2007 or above, you can download and install Microsoft Office Add-in. Then you can directly save your office files, such as word, excel, ppt to PDF files directly.

Simpo PDF Creator Lite (Recommended): If you not only want to convert office files to PDF, but also others, you can try this pdf creator, which can create pdf files from many pritable documents, such as office document, images, html, etc.

Free PDF Converter

So far, there are only two good and free PDF converters as I tested. Both are online converter.

ZamZar (Recommended): It supports uploading up to 100MB PDF file, and converts to many different format, such as .jpg, .png, .doc, .ppt, .xls, .html, .txt, etc.


ConvertPDFtoWord: It can only convert PDF to word document, the most common file format. And it preserves the layout quite well.



Free OCR Converter

Some users write to ask why they fail to convert a PDF file to word. The most probable reason is that pdf file is scanned PDF. Scanned PDF means pages in PDF files are images, but not real text. To convert this kind of PDF, OCR software are needed. However, most OCR can’t recognize all characters in PDF well.

Online OCR: It can extract text from image (JPG, BMP, TIFF, GIF) and convert into editable Word, Text, Excel, PDF, Html output formats. Max file size is 4MB.
