Disadvantage: it’s not free, costs $29.95.
PrimoPDF is another comprehensive PDF creator, it also provides solution to convert most printable files to PDF format.
NitroPDF is the pro version of PrimoPDF, and it’s more powerful. It’s not only create PDF, but also convert, combine, edit, sign and share industry-standard PDF files.
Sometimes, you may need to download a PDF conversion software to convert PDF to other file formats like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Text, even HTML and Images. Don’t worry, I’m sure that you can find a suitable PDF converter in the following list.
There are as many PDF converters on the internet as PDF creators, so, it’s not easy to get a good one. After trying one by one, I pick up some of them to fulfill kinds of needs.
ConvertPDFtoWord: It’s an online PDF to Word converter, so, you can just use it to convert PDF to word document, the most common file format to allows you to edit PDF in Word. And it preserves the layout quite well.

If you want to convert scanned PDF, the normal PDF converters can’t do this and you need an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software to make scanned PDF to editable file format.
Online OCR: It can extract text from image (JPG, BMP, TIFF, GIF) and convert into editable Word, Text, Excel, PDF, Html output formats. Max file size is 4MB.
